The Social Media Geek is now RiotUs

Welcome to the new RiotUs website! We’re excited to show you all the new things you can expect from our social media and digital marketing business.

We have some exciting news: The Social Media Geek has been going through a rebrand recently, and at last we’re ready to share it with the world. Our company will now be known as RiotUs, and we’re excited to showcase our digital marketing talents on our brand new website, RiotUs

We’ve known we needed to do this for some time now. After all, when the business first started it was a single person. Becky has been trading under the name ‘The Social Media Geek’ since 2013, but since then the company has grown and there’s no longer just one geek! We thought it would be worth creating a whole new look and feel to the business to match what we’re hoping to achieve.

RiotUs

We’ve chosen a brand new name: RiotUs. We want our company to reflect our values, and the name does exactly that. We believe that anger can be incredibly powerful with the right direction; that we are much more powerful as a community; and to paraphrase Martin Luther King Jr, that riots are the language of the unheard.

That might seem like quite the manifesto for a digital marketing company, but we really want to do our part to make the internet a better place. That means working with organisations that are making clear positive change, as well as providing training and mentoring to help smaller companies succeed.

Who are we?

Enough about the logic behind the rebrand; who actually is RiotUs? Our team is made up of three wonderful people:

Becky

Becky is the founder of RiotUs and its director of social media. She is our resident expert on everything to do with social networks, and has proven to be a talented face of the business as well.

Zoë

Zoë joined the company in 2019 as its director of creative marketing. Her background is in content creation, and she works with our clients to come up with great pieces of work to entertain and inform their target audiences.

Joe

Our most recent addition to the team, Joe is our office manager and is responsible for keeping us organized and looking after our finances. We’d genuinely be lost without him, so we’re very glad he joined the company!

Pongo

Pongo is our dog. His responsibilities include scheduling Facebook posts, analysing data and calling sales prospects. Unfortunately, he has neglected these in favour of lying on the sofa and playing with his toys all day. We will be having words at his next performance review.
